CBSE Class 10 Board Exam Passing Criteria

• A minimum of 75% attendance in the respective class is required to be eligible for the board exams, with relaxation possible for genuine reasons such as medical emergencies or participation in national/international events on submission of valid documents.
• A minimum of 33% marks is required in each subject to pass.
• For subjects involving practicals, students must secure 33% separately in both the theory and practical components.
• Students must obtain a grade higher than 'E' in all internal assessments, failing which the external examination result may be withheld.
• Students who fail in one or two subjects are eligible to appear for the compartment/improvement examination.

Important Note on the Marksheet

Students who appeared in the improvement or compartment category receive a single document that serves as both the marksheet and the passing certificate. The provisional mark sheet is being made available through DigiLocker and the official CBSE result portal; the original document must still be collected later from the concerned school.
