How to Apply

  1. Register as a 'STUDENT' on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at www.nats.education.gov.in and obtain a valid APAR ID.
  2. Download the offline application form from the DTL official website: https://dtl.gov.in
  3. Fill the application form completely and attach one set of self-attested photocopies plus two recent passport-size colour photographs, along with the required original documents.

Stipend is paid for 12 months of Apprenticeship. Of this amount, 50% is contributed by DTL and 50% by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), Northern Region, Govt. of India, via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the apprentice's registered bank account.

Eligibility Criteria - Additional Conditions

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen and at least 18 years old at the time of application.
  • Candidate must have passed the requisite full-time Degree/Diploma in the relevant cadre from a recognized University/Board in India within 5 years of the closing date of application, and must be medically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • Candidates who have undergone, are undergoing, or are already registered under a NATS contract elsewhere are not eligible.
  • Candidates with one or more years of work experience are not eligible.

  • Candidates should have an active Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account as per Govt. of India norms, and must submit these bank details in the application.
  • The Name and Date of Birth of the applicant should match across the Matriculation (10th class) certificate, Aadhaar Card, and bank account.

Leave Entitlement

Apprentices are entitled to 8 days of Casual Leave and 15 days of Medical Leave (on medical illness grounds), on a pro-rata basis, for one year of Apprenticeship duration.

Important Instructions

  • Apprentices will be governed by the reservation rules applicable in DTL and the Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
  • No TA/DA will be paid to candidates.
  • On completion of the Apprenticeship Training, the contract will be terminated with no obligation on DTL to offer employment.
  • Misconduct in any form will result in disqualification.
  • Apprentice Trainees are not covered under the Provident Fund Act and are out of ESI, as they are not employees of the organisation.
  • Apprentice Trainees must maintain a record of their training and attendance and submit it to the Training Department monthly.
  • Apprentice Trainees will not claim any employment or remuneration beyond the stipend, TA/DA, or accommodation.
  • DTL will not entertain claims of injury/accident, theft, or other loss during the course of training.
  • DTL reserves the right to amend the Terms & Conditions and to cancel, increase, or decrease the number of candidates engaged.
  • Any corrigendum/addendum will be published on the DTL website and NATS portal; candidates should check regularly.
  • DTL will not communicate individually with applicants regarding non-selection.
