How to Apply

  1. Open the official CASB recruitment portal at https://iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.
  2. Step I (Registration): enter personal and contact details, click 'Generate OTP', and verify using the OTPs sent separately to the registered mobile number and e-mail ID.
  3. Accept the terms and conditions, re-check the entered details, and submit — a User ID and password will then be sent to the registered mobile number and e-mail ID.
  4. Click 'Go To Application' to move to Step II.
  5. Step II (Application form): fill in Personal, Communication and Qualification details plus the Declaration, and upload the photograph, signature, parent's signature (if under 18), left thumb impression and a live photo-match image.
  6. Preview the form, correct any mistakes, and submit it.
  7. Pay the non-refundable fee of ₹100 plus 18% GST through Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI.
  8. Save and print the submitted application form (PDF) for the rally.
  9. Indicate two preferred rally venues during registration, keeping in mind CASB may allot a venue irrespective of preference; only one application per candidate is allowed.

Selection Process

  • Verification of eligibility documents (original or DigiLocker-verified) at the rally venue before the physical test.
  • Physical Fitness Test I (PFT-I) — 1.6 km run within 7 minutes (male) / 8 minutes (female).
  • Physical Fitness Test II (PFT-II), after 10 minutes rest — push-ups, sit-ups and squats as prescribed for male and female candidates.
  • English Written Test — 30 objective questions in 30 minutes based on the Matriculation/10th CBSE syllabus; candidates must qualify to proceed.
  • Music Proficiency Test (MPT) for candidates who clear the written test, assessed individually or in groups.
  • Medical Examination in September 2026 at 11 AFH, Hindon and SMC, AF Station Jalahalli.

Other Medical Notes

  • Candidates with a history of LASIK/PRK eye surgery will not be accepted.
  • Tattoos are permitted only on the inner forearm, back (dorsal) of the hand, or as per tribal custom; offensive, obscene or indecent tattoos anywhere on the body disqualify a candidate.
  • Use, possession, storage or distribution of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances is a reject criterion; IAF follows a zero-tolerance policy on alcoholism and substance abuse.
  • Candidates declared medically unfit may apply for an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) by depositing ₹40 through e-MRO/MRO within three working days of the medical examination.

Salary and Pay Package

Agniveervayu (Musician) recruits are paid an Agniveer package starting at ₹30,000 per month in the first year, rising with a fixed yearly increment to ₹40,000 per month in the fourth year, along with Risk and Hardship allowances, Dress and Travel allowances, and perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per existing rules. There is no Provident Fund contribution and no gratuity or pension. Recruits also get non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 lakh for the four-year engagement period. Agniveervayu are not granted Ex-Servicemen (ESM) status on completion of the four-year term.

Seva Nidhi Payout Note

Total contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund over four years is approximately ₹5.02 lakh from the recruit's own contribution, matched by approximately ₹5.02 lakh from the Government of India — totalling approximately ₹10.04 lakh as the Seva Nidhi package on exit after four years (excluding interest).

Important Instructions

  • Registration is online only; there is no offline mode.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited in testing areas — candidates carrying them will be permanently debarred.
  • Nothing should be written or marked on the Provisional Admit Card, on pain of permanent debarment.
  • No bribe or payment is required at any stage of selection; candidates should stay alert to impersonators and fraudulent agents.
  • The Provisional Select List (PSL) is valid for six months from its display date and applies only to this Intake 01/2027 Musician recruitment.
