Technician Apprentice (Diploma in Commercial Practice): Three-year Diploma in Commercial Practice with not less than 6.32 CGPA from a State Board of Technical Education. In all cases the qualifying degree/diploma must have been obtained on or after April 2022; final-year, result-awaiting or M.E./M.Tech-pursuing candidates, and those who have already undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training or have one year or more of institutional experience as an apprentice, are not eligible. Priority is given to candidates from the BoAT Southern Region (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry); candidates from other regions are considered only if a discipline has a shortage of applications. |

How to Apply
- There is no online application for this recruitment; selection is done entirely through the walk-in drive.
- Report in person at the VSSC selection drive venue in Thiruvananthapuram on 25 July 2026 between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Carry original certificates along with self-attested photocopies of your degree/diploma (provisional or final), consolidated mark list, and a date-of-birth proof such as SSLC/SSC/AISSE/ICSE certificate.
- Bring an experience certificate if applicable and one passport-size photograph.
- Candidates claiming reservation must carry the relevant category certificate: SC/ST caste certificate from the Tahsildar, OBC non-creamy-layer certificate, EWS income and asset certificate for financial year 2026-27, or a PwBD disability certificate.
- After scrutiny of documents at the venue, eligible candidates are handed an application form to fill and submit on the spot.
Selection Process
- Document verification of originals and self-attested copies at the walk-in venue.
- Merit is prepared based on the highest marks/CGPA scored by candidates in their qualifying degree/diploma examination, with due weightage to reservation categories.
- A selection panel is drawn up; induction into the 2026-27 training batch depends on the candidate's position in the panel and the availability of vacancies.
- Selected apprentices are registered under a contract on the Ministry of Education's NATS 2.0 portal (www.nats.education.gov.in) soon after induction.

Important Notes
- Candidates who obtained their degree/diploma before April 2022 are not eligible; the qualification must have been acquired on or after April 2022.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, or have one year or more of institutional experience as an apprentice, are not eligible. Combining apprenticeship with other institutions is not permitted.
- Candidates who complete five years from the month/year of passing as per their certificate (or who cross this limit while empanelled/waitlisted) will not be considered for training.
- Where a university mentions both CGPA and percentage, meeting either criterion is sufficient for eligibility; conversion of CGPA to percentage using external formulas is not permitted.
- Mere completion of one year of apprenticeship training at VSSC or any ISRO/Department of Space unit does not confer any right to permanent employment.
- Canteen and transport facilities are available during training; accommodation must be arranged by the candidate.
- No interim correspondence will be entertained, and canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
